This course will provide a solid understanding of the fundamentals of cost segregation and is designed for tax, accounting, and other professionals serving the real estate markets who are not yet familiar with this highly effective tax planning strategy. Instructors will begin with a thorough overview of cost seg and why it is important followed by a review of depreciation, the history of cost seg, how “qualifying property” is determined and finally what needs to be in a cost seg study. After completing this course participants will be able to speak with clients about the value of cost segregation and how a study works.
